Refund Policy

Upfront payment · crypto or PayPal · fair refund if no match

Wallet recovery is a one-time upfront payment that funds the GPU compute time. If we cannot find the password within the GPU budget we refund the full amount minus the network (miner) fee.

1. How wallet pricing works

lost-my-wallet.com operates on a pay-upfront model because GPU compute is a real cost and wallet KDFs (scrypt, PBKDF2) are deliberately expensive:

  • You upload your encrypted wallet file (wallet.dat, keystore.json, MetaMask vault, Electrum, Exodus).
  • The one-time fee is charged in cryptocurrency (BTC/ETH/USDT) or PayPal — no card.
  • Our GPU cluster runs dictionary + rule-based + pattern attacks against the hashcat mode for your wallet.
  • If the password is found we deliver it immediately — no additional payment.
  • If the password is NOT found we issue a refund per section 2.

2. When a refund is possible

  • Password not found — full refund minus the non-refundable network/miner fee. Reply to the recovery-status email within 14 days after the job completes with not_found status.
  • Wallet file is not a valid encrypted wallet — we detect this during pre-processing and refund 100% immediately (nothing was spent on GPU).
  • Delivered password does not unlock the wallet — full 100% refund within 5 business days.

3. When a refund is NOT possible

  • You changed your mind after receiving the working password — the digital service is fully delivered.
  • The wallet was submitted without authorization — we do not process disputes from third parties after the fact.
  • Chargebacks / PayPal disputes filed without first contacting us — please reach out so we can resolve legitimate issues directly.

4. Cryptocurrency refunds

Crypto refunds are sent back to the same wallet address used for the original payment, in the same coin. We deduct the on-chain miner fee from the refund amount. For very small amounts (< $10) the network fee may exceed the refund — in that case we offer a credit toward a future recovery.

5. Private keys & security

We extract only the password hash from your wallet file — never the private keys. The wallet file is deleted from our server within 24 hours of job completion regardless of outcome. We never touch your funds.

6. Disputes

For pay-on-success disputes (e.g. you believe a recovered password is incorrect), reply to the recovery email — the message goes directly to the operator handling your job. This service operates anonymously; we maintain no public-facing support channel.
